BEARWWW Location Troubleshooting Guide

Are you having problems with your location on BEARWWW? If your location is not displayed correctly or nearby profiles appear too far away, follow the troubleshooting steps below to resolve the issue.


Android

Force Stop BEARWWW

  • Exit the app completely by forcing it to close in your device settings.

Check and Update Your Current Location

  1. Open your device's native map app (like Google Maps or Navigation).
  2. Refresh to update your current location, ensuring it is accurate.
  3. Close the Maps app.
  4. Turn off your device and then turn it back on.
  5. Run BEARWWW again.

Activate Assisted GPS

  1. Go to your device’s Settings.
  2. Tap Location or Location Services and turn it on.
  3. Choose a Location Method to use.
  4. Make sure GPS, Wi-Fi and mobile networks are accessible.
  5. Reopen the BEARWWW app.

iOS

Force Stop BEARWWW

  • Exit the app to make sure it's not running in the background.

Check Your Current Location

  1. Go to the Maps app on your device.
  2. Tap Current Location in the upper right corner.
  3. Check if your location is accurate on the map.

Reset Location Services

  1. Navigate to Settings on your device.
  2. Go to Privacy, then Location Services.
  3. Disable Location Services, and confirm the action.
  4. Restart your device.
  5. Go back to Settings.
  6. Return to Privacy and Location Services.
  7. Re-enable Location Services on the 'When Using the App' option.
  8. Relaunch the BEARWWW application.

Web

  • Access to Browser Location

Location Specific Error Messages

Location Error Message

  • Google Location Services prompt :

If a message asks you to "Turn on device tracking, which uses Google location services", tap OK to enable it.

In case of continuing problems:

  • Go to Settings on your device.
  • Select Connections.
  • Go to Location.
  • Choose Location Method.
  • Change to the High Precision locating method.

Force stop BEARWWW and clear your device's cache.

  • Note : If problems persist, submit a help request with a description of the problem instead of reinstalling. Don't forget to backup chats before reinstalling the app if necessary.

False Location Error Message

  • Prohibition of False Locations :
    • BEARWWW does not accept fake locations, but you can hide your location by:
      • Disabling Show My Distance in BEARWWW settings.
      • Disabling precise localization at the operating system level:
        • For Android : Disable in settings.
        • For iOS : Disable in system settings.
      • Using the Incognito function with the Unlimited subscription.
